allison + adam
january 9th, 2016
so i'm going back into the archives for this post. this was my first wedding of the year. it was basically a summer day in january. i showed up a bit early to get acquainted with the group before the big moments came along that day. thats when i met allison's family. they paraded in, light hearted and laughing, and the laughter lasted the entire day!
one of the moments i try to facilitate on a wedding day is a first look between the bride and her father. sometimes this moment gets emotional, sometimes fathers say profound things, and sometimes they say nothing at all. but regardless of what comes out, its always a meaningful and authentic moment. but this morning went a bit off plan when allison's fathers button broke off his shirt. he came right into the room where the girls were getting ready, ripped off his shirt and created what i consider to be one of the most unforgettable, yet genuine, first looks between a dad and his little girl. as the day went on i couldn't help but notice the love that this family has for one another, and how deeply that love now extended to adam and his family.
i also have to say i kind of had a man crush on adam. arguably the most romantic grooms i have ever seen. the guy can salsa dance, he composed music, and sang in spanish to his bride (i think was spanish), it was unbelievable. but even when he wasn't on stage, when no one else was noticing, in the quiet moments of the day, he was just as romantic. it was obvious from the first moment he saw allison that day, he was head over heels for this girl.
to the weiss family, thank you for being so hospitable to me even though i was just the hired help that day. adam and allison, i wish you guys nothing but the best in life. follow the example your parents have shown you and keep that romance alive!
here are a few of my favorite moments from the day.
