My Approach

A Documentary Style with Heart

Your wedding is more than an event — it’s a living, breathing story filled with emotions, gestures, and fleeting details. Through a blend of candid documentary coverage and intentional portraits, you’ll receive a gallery that feels both timeless and deeply personal.

Getting Ready

The morning sets the tone for your day. You’ll have images that reflect the quiet anticipation, the laughter of your friends, the look on your mom’s face as she zips up your dress, and the nervous excitement before walking down the aisle. Every detail and emotion is captured while the atmosphere remains calm and supportive.

Ceremony

Your ceremony will be remembered from every angle. You’ll see not only the major moments — walking down the aisle, saying your vows, your first kiss — but also the subtle ones: your partner’s expression, your parents’ tears, and the laughter among your guests. Everything is documented respectfully, so the story feels complete without distraction.

Portraits

Portraits give you time to pause and connect. You’ll receive images that feel natural and genuine, with just enough direction to keep the experience relaxed. These portraits will become timeless anchors in your story — filled with warmth, movement, and connection.

Reception

Your celebration will come alive again every time you look back. From the first dance to spontaneous laughter around the tables, you’ll see candids and reactions that show not only how your wedding looked, but how it felt.

Core Expectations

When you invite me to capture your wedding, here’s what you can expect:

  • Presence without pressure — I’ll document the day with empathy, stepping in only when needed.

  • Big and small moments — From the first look to your grandma’s laughter during toasts, I’m always watching for the story within the details.

  • Complete storytelling — You’ll receive a mix of portraits, candids, and details that together tell the full narrative of your wedding.

  • Supportive guidance — During portraits or family photos, I’ll direct just enough to keep things natural and stress-free.

  • Professionalism & Care — From timeline prep to collaborating with vendors, I work to keep your day running smoothly.

Working with Nathan for our wedding in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico was an amazing experience.  He captured the week perfectly.  He got to know everyone on a personal level and that makes a huge difference when catching the right moment on camera.  We still get compliments weekly on how great the photos came out.

It is evident that there was a ton of love and care with each photo he shot. He knows what moments are key, he understands when its appropriate to request a certain shot — but most of all: he manages the crowd with authority and kindness.

What’s incredible about Nathan is that his character & adaptability are equally as impressive as his unique talent behind the lens. We’re beyond grateful for the mind-blowing results of his work during our destination wedding on a tiny, charming island in Mexico.

FAQs

How would you describe your photography style?

I focus on documentary-style storytelling — capturing authentic, candid moments as they naturally unfold — balanced with timeless portraits. My goal is that you not only see what your day looked like, but also feel what it was like to be there.

Where are you based? Do you travel for weddings?

I split my time between Austin, Texas (Hill Country) and Cleveland, Ohio, but I happily travel for weddings worldwide. Whether it’s a local celebration or a destination event, I approach each story with the same care and dedication.

How long have you been photographing weddings?

I’ve been photographing weddings for over 20 years. My experience spans countless venues, cultures, and traditions — all of which have shaped the calm, intentional approach I bring to every wedding day.

What can we expect on our wedding day?

You can expect a calming, supportive presence. I’ll guide you when needed (especially during portraits) but will otherwise step back to document the genuine story of your day. My goal is to let you be fully present while I capture it all.

When will we get our photos?

You’ll receive a preview within a week, and your full online gallery will be delivered within 8–12 weeks. Galleries are easy to share with family and friends, and you’ll have the option to order prints, albums, and wall art.

Do you offer albums or prints?

Yes! I believe your images deserve to live beyond the screen. I offer handcrafted albums, fine art prints, and wall displays — heirlooms that will preserve your story for generations.

What if we’re camera shy?

That’s completely normal! Most of my couples feel the same way. My approach is natural and relaxed — I’ll guide you just enough so you feel comfortable without ever feeling stiff or posed.

Do you take family photos and formal portraits?

Yes! While I prioritize candid, in-the-moment storytelling, I also know how important family portraits are. I’ll work with you before the wedding to create a list of must-have groupings so that portraits feel organized, natural, and efficient.

How many photos will we receive?

Every wedding is unique, but most couples receive 600–900 edited images in their final gallery. The exact number depends on the size of your wedding, timeline, and events throughout the day.
