I had a very unique opportunity a couple weeks ago to photograph a wedding at Sammy's Manakiki Ballroom for two people who are both very dear to me. The one thing I strive for most in my career is truly "connecting" with my clients. Through our meeting process I really try to get a good understanding of their relationship (how they met, how they fell in love, etc.). Then through our engagement shoot process and pre-wedding consultations I really get to know their personalities and we start to build a level of trust with one another. Now, when I show up at a wedding there is already a level of comfort established. My goal is to really become a part of their wedding day. I want to be involved in every step of the day and capture all of the emotion that transpires without disrupting a moment. I strive to be everywhere and nowhere all at once; and the more comfortable I am with my clients, the more capable I am of achieving this. At Lindsey and Micah's wedding I feel like I accomplished my goal on a level I never have before. When I look at the photograph's I took I feel like I truly became a part of their wedding day. I can't wait for Lindsey and Micah to see the photos because I truly feel they will be able to re-live their wedding day through my photographs. My experience at their wedding was so unique because I was the one introduced Micah and Lindsey. I hosted a mystery dinner night at my house and invited the two of them with full intentions of making sparks fly! And sparks flew! Less than a year later the two are now head over heels in love and married! Lindsey and I were like best friends in high school and Micah and I have really grown close just these past couple years. I love both of you guys a ton! And I couldn't be happier for you two! You two are a match made in heaven!(actually my kitchen) It was an honor to be a part of your wedding day. I hope you love your photographs. I loved the hot pink room and the blue desk, but when you have a bride this beautiful the rest of the photo doesn't even matter!
Lindsey's mom wanted a photo of all the girls together on the bed. I love the photo got from this moment!
Micah's father unfortunately recently passed away and was unable to be there in person for Micah, so Lindsey had some custom cuff links made with a photo of Micah and his dad inside. Here is a great shot from Marisa!
Lindsey's younger brother grew up with 3 sisters always wanting a big brother. So Micah made him a certificate that said "Officially Brothers for Life!" It was really cute.
Here is another one of Marisa's shots I loved!
Here is another one from Marisa.
I loved these next 2 shots Marisa got!
I laid down on the floor and got the next two shots of them. Micah saw me standing up and said, "Let me see that one!"
This was their reaction after I showed them the photo above on my camera.
Marisa nailed this shot! The hot pink walls were sick!
